1. To play our own part but also involve all stakeholders including the
government of United Republic of Tanzania, household and
communities.
2. To have collective efforts, comprehensive strategic plans and utilize
effectively the local available material and non- material resources.
3. To improve both medical and non-medical services.
4. To facilitate social support for children, their mothers, pregnant
women and all people living with HIV/AIDS infections.
5. To assist in provision of awareness to people in order to secure the
necessities of life in communities.
6. To strategize provision and Counselling of nutrition education for
people living with HIV/AIDS.
7. To identify and link people who has signs or suffer from Tuberculosis
(TB).
8. To build capacity amongst youth in career, health and business
management.
9. To assist, link and report any assault in regards gender equality.
Tanzania Health and Development Initiative is non-profitable, health organization registered since 2013. The headquarters located at Rujewa in Mbarali District Council in Mbeya region. THDI is a member of Mbeya HIV and AIDS Network (MHNT) and Usango Non-Governmental organization (USANGONET).THDI is a sub grantee of the Henry Jackson Foundation Medical Research International Tanzania (HJFMRI-T), which implements a PEPFAR HIV Care and Treatment funded programs through the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) of the US Department of Defence (DOD) in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the President’s Office of the Regional Administration and local Government (PORALG). Moreover, Under close collaboration with Regional and Council Health Management Teams, THDI undertakes the following activities: Community HIV Counselling and Testing;provide Community Based HIV/AIDS Services; provision of social economics empowerment education to people living with HIV/AIDS; address Gender based Violence and Violence against Children; HIV prevention interventions; Community Based HIV testing services (CBHTS); Community based HIV and AIDS Services (CBHS) in Songwe DC of Songwe Region.
